Extremely low thermal expansion

Fused silica is an amorphous modification of quartz. It is produced in an electric arc at around 2000°C and features an extremely low thermal coefficient of expansion (0.5*10-6/K). This property is of decisive importance for special applications subject to high temperature and change requirements. Iron-free grinding and upstream sorting processes enable us to manufacture fused silica granules down to the 1 micro-meter range.
