Kaolin is a lamellar mineral composed mainly of alumino-silicates.
Depending on its origin and the treatments it may have undergone during the manufacturing process, it will impart particular characteristics to the final product.
While the best-known uses are in paper and ceramics, the different types of kaolin provide unrivalled properties in a number of industries, such as paint and plastics.
Available in its calcined version, it can be used to obtain highly matte, gloss-resistant paints.
