Reinforcement, low thermal expansion

Wollastonite is a calcium silicate of natural origin, formed from silicon dioxide and calcium carbonate at a temperature of around 450°C. The structure of wollastonite particles depends, on the one hand, on the geological formation and, on the other, to a large extent, on the processing technology chosen. Depending on the technology chosen, plants produce blocky particle shapes with a low length-to-diameter ratio, or pronounced needle-shaped wollastonite particles with a high length-to-diameter ratio.
